All camera lenses distort images to some extent. Lenses found on non-industrial cameras and consumer 35mm cameras range from quite low quality to quite high quality. PhotoModeler can compensate for the lens distortion through a calibration procedure thereby making even consumer-quality lenses reasonable choices for doing measurements.
