Focal Length

The distance measured along the optical axis of a lens from the rear nodal point to the plane of best focus for an object a great distance away. The nominal focal length is an approximate value of the focal length that is printed on lens housings and in some lens specification sheets. The calibrated focal length (the value PhotoModeler uses) is an adjusted value of focal length that describes the distance from the perspective center of the camera to the image plane of the camera.
