All of Pro 5 and Pro 4.0’s tutorials use Windows AVI files (Pro 3.0 has a few AVI files). PhotoModeler 6 uses Flash videos. When these AVIs or Flash movies play, is there sound? If there is no sound, and you are sure that all the volume controls are set properly, then the sound hardware on your system is not working properly.
If you are running Pro 3.X, the tutorials use Lotus ScreenCam movies as well as AVI files. When the tutorials run you will see a small ScreenCam control box on the screen. If this dialog box has a small speaker symbol on the right, then either Lotus ScreenCam does not work with your sound hardware or you do not have any sound hardware. If you know you have a working sound board contact Lotus and your sound card manufacturer to see if there are any new drivers available. If the dialog box shows a vertical slider control on the right then ScreenCam does recognize your sound hardware. Make sure this control is moved to the top and that your Windows sound level is set high also.
If the AVIs have sound but the ScreenCams do not, then Lotus ScreenCam may be incompatible with your sound hardware. Contact Lotus and your sound card manufacturer to see if there are any new drivers available. If all else fails you can print the segment voice-over scripts from the help file and try to follow along that way.
