Cartesian Coordinate Axes

The set of three axes (defined by one origin point and three points in space) that define the position and orientation of a Cartesian coordinate system. These axes are at right angles to each other. A Cartesian coordinate is represented by three values that designate a position. The point is located by measuring its distance from each axis along a parallel to the other axis.

See Orientation for further detail.
