The Check and Repair facility runs in the background to check for any errors in the Project / PMR file. The Project is automatically checked for errors after it has been loaded from disk, before it is saved to disk and before Processing and Audit.
During normal operation of the program the user will not even be aware of the functioning of Check and Repair. Check and Repair only becomes visible when an error has been detected in the project. A Check and Repair report dialog will first appear stating how many errors it has found and asking if it should proceed with the repair or not. If you say "yes" to the repair it then reports again whether the repair was completely successful. The checklog.txt file, stored in the PhotoModeler install directory, contains all the details of the errors detected and the repairs made.
If you are having a lot of Check and Repair messages in a particular project, the Project might be very badly corrupted. Send the PMR file and the checklog.txt file to Technical Support for help.
If a Check and Repair reports a number of errors when you are saving a Project to disk, it might be a good idea to first not do the repairs but continue with the save, then save the Project again to another file name and this time ask for the repairs to be done. This way you have two project files to work with in case there are problems with the repairs.
Projects that are badly corrupted may not repair successfully as too much information might be missing. In this case try loading previous versions of the file to see if they are corrupted.
