Coordinate Transformation

A mathematical transformation of all the coordinates in the model that does not affect the shape of the model. In PhotoModeler these transformations can affect only the size, position, and rotation of the model. These transforms in PhotoModeler are strictly ‘Helmert Transforms’ (a transform that does not change the shape of nor warp the model). A Helmert Transform is a coordinate transform with no shear or differential scale components.

A transform can be setup using a scale, rotate, translate or with multiple points using the Multipoint Transform or the Geographic Multipoint Transform. See Setting Multi-point Transform.

Because this transform will not adjust the model shape, it is extremely rare that a model will line up exactly with the measurements defining the transform.  The difference between the entered measurements and the transformed project can be seen on the Check Distances Table or the Check Points Table.

See Importing and Setting Up Coordinate Systems.
