Epoch

A period of time.  Used in the context of motion project. In motion project an epoch is a time when the moving and changing object/scene is considered to be stationary.  For fast moving objects the epoch would be a very short time interval and if captured by a video camera there might be 15 epochs per second.  For slow moving objects or objects that change shape slowly epochs might be minutes, hours or days apart and last for many minutes.
