Many operations in PhotoModeler work on "selected" items. You select these items and then perform the operation on the selection set. Move, delete, scale, rotate and measure are some of the operations that work with selected items.
Selection is usually done with a mouse but some operations for selection can be processed through menus and the keyboard.
