A warning appears when images are added to a project that are unusually low in resolution. Low resolution images can cause problems for target detection, especially when target dot diameters in the images are smaller than about 8-10 pixels (see Targets - Do’s and Don’t’s). Coded Target projects rely on good quality images and targets for optimal target detection.
The image resolutions are checked during project setup and if they are deemed to be low for a high-quality automated target project this warning will appear.
Images that are taken with a phone camera that are emailed or uploaded off of the phone can sometimes be ‘down-sampled’ by the phone to facilitate electronic transfer.
For best results, full resolution images should be used in PhotoModeler. Check your camera documentation for instructions on how to get images off the phone at full resolution. Often the simplest way to do this is by connecting the phone to your computer using a USB cable.
