Here are some examples of how this dialog functions and how you can use it to effect changes in the project.
You have a PMR but none of the images
You have a PMR on disk or a PMR someone sent you but you do not have any of the images used in the Project but you still want to study the project and view the 3D model. You open the PMR file in PhotoModeler and then bring up the 3D Viewer. The Photos Missing Dialog will appear. You pick option 1 "are no longer available" and press OK. The 3D Viewer will display normally with the only difference that any materials that are photo-textured or auto-colored with appear as a solid color only.
You want to switch a project from TIFF to JPE.G. images
You have a project that was done with TIFF images or some other non-compressed format. You now want to send that project and images to a colleague or to PhotoModeler Technologies technical support and want to switch to JPE.G. images. You create a new empty directory. You copy just the PMR into that directory. You then convert all your TIFF files to JPE.G. files keeping the same file names but using JPG file extension. You open the PMR in the next directory with PhotoModeler and open the Project Photographs dialog. When you get the Photos Missing Dialog you choose option 2 "have been moved…". A file dialog will appear asking for the replacement for the first image in the project. The image being replaced is listed on the file dialog title bar. You then choose the corresponding JPE.G. file and press OK. Repeat this for each image in the project. Save the PMR (perhaps with a new name so you can distinguish it). This new PMR now uses the JPE.G. files instead of the original TIFF files.
You want to move the images to a different directory from the PMR
You want to separate the images and PMR which are in one directory into separate directories. Create the new directory and move all your image files there. Open the PMR in PhotoModeler. The Photos Missing dialog will appear. Choose the first option "all have been moved to a new directory". When the file dialog appears change to the new directory and select any one of the images files and press OK. If all the images are found in the new directory you are done. Save this PMR that now points to images in the new directory.
