When a series of images are taken from the exact same position (e.g. a security camera, or remote triggered camera on a tripod, or video frames, see Video Frame Extraction) this sequence of images can be associated with a project's photograph. Similar to the "Replace photo (retain orientation)" option, but instead of replacing the photo permanently, a list of images is associated with the photograph and the next/previous image tools (page up/page down) can be used to scroll through the sequence replacing the image used by the photo but keeping its marks and solved camera position. These marks can then be assigned to layers based on their place in the image sequence, for further distinction.
For example, a security camera captures a scene in which an object moves. The surface on which the object sits can be created based on some known 3D points (i.e. surveyed/control points) and the sequence of frames can be used to track the movement of the object, using surface draw points of the object on that surface over time. Those surface draw points can then be analyzed and measured in 3D.
To add or edit an images sequence, bring up the Photo Properties (right click on a photo), and select the Image filename property. Click on the "Create Image Sequence" hyperlink. This will bring up the Edit Image Sequence dialog where images can be added, removed, or re-ordered within the sequence.
Once a photo has an image sequence the thumbnail will display which image of the sequence is currently active (e.g. [1/2]):
Opening the photo will display the active image in the sequence. With the photo view active, the page up/down keys will scroll through the sequence changing the active photo. To help identify changes in the images there is a short transitional fade (to adjust this fade contact support@photomodeler.com).
