Recording Video

The sequential nature of frames in the video lends itself well to SmartMatch and DSM.  However, when recording video it is important to move the camera very slowly so that frames have little or no motion blur. 

Also, the guidelines shown in the SmartPoints Photo Requirements and DSM Photo Requirements sections should be followed when recording video, especially if you intend to use Automatic Video Frame Extraction. Make sure to move around/along the object or scene, rather than standing in one position and pivoting. Moving around/along the object will ensure you have images with suitable overlap.

Video from a stationary camera (e.g. a security camera) can also be used, and optionally extracted to a video sequence. The Video Extraction dialog has settings for this – see Adding Video Frames to a Project.
