Project Wizard: Camera Type

When you are using an approximate camera for the first time with PhotoModeler you have three options:

Film Camera: If you are using a film camera and you know the camera's parameters such as Focal Length, Principal Point and Distortion parameters, you can enter these manually. The wizard will ask you a series of questions about the camera and the photographs that you took.

Approximate Digital Settings: Choose this option if you want to review photographs and you do not want to properly set up the camera in PhotoModeler. Your project may not process if the settings do not match well enough to your actual camera, especially since your camera will have very basic and generic digital camera parameter values. You can set up a proper camera at a later date and assign it to your photographs.  If this option is selected, you have provided enough information to start your project work. Clicking “Next>” will end the wizard.

EXIF Setup: Choose this option if you want to set up an approximate camera in PhotoModeler based on the images’ EXIF information. This option is enabled only if your project images have enough data to form an approximate camera setup. Your project may not process if the settings do not match well enough to your actual camera. You can set up a proper camera at a later date and assign it to your photographs. If this option is selected, you have provided enough information to start your project work. Clicking “Next>” will end the wizard.
