Settings

The Settings section has settings that control the appearance of 3D objects and Masks (see Creating mask images) on photos.

The Transparency slider controls how transparent a 3D object or mask appears in photos.  Adjusting the transparency is useful if items are not clearly visible or when you want to view photo contents ‘through’ the projected items.  If the slider is to the left (solid) then the 3D model or mask will look solid and will hide the photograph behind it. If the slider is to the right (clear) then the projection or mask will not be visible at all (but note 3D items will still be selectable and this is not the same as turning 3D projections off). Other settings between the extremes let you see the projected 3D model or mask and the photograph at the same time.

The size settings control the relative size of various 3D items in photos.  These are identical to those in the 3D Viewer Options Dialog except they apply to the 3D model projected onto the photos. Note that surface type applies to Cylinders, Silhouettes and Surfaces.

The Display Styles section contains controls to set how various items are displayed on photos. The Fixed Color setting uses a Preference setting (Preferences - User Interface, Colors tab) to override a entity’s material to display in a more visible color. Other drop down selectors in this section control other display properties.  For surfaces etc., the options are the same as in the 3D Viewer options dialog: Single Color, Wireframe, Dots, Fast Textures, Quality Textures.  For Point Clouds you can set to Single Color, Color from photo (i.e. photo textured), or Color from height (Using the Color from height option allows you to overlay height data on photos).  For points, you can set Single Color or Color from Photo (photo texture).
