Outline Fillets are arced shapes of a defined radius that connect Outline entities and guarantee C0 and C1 continuity at the connections (C0=continuity of position, and C1=continuity of the first derivative direction vector). There are two tools to draw fillets:
• Fillet: The Fillet tool draws a fillet at the radius shown in the Radius Control on the toolbar.
• Interactive Fillet: If the Fillet radius value is unknown, the Interactive Fillet tool can be used to manipulate the fillet in real time until it matches the shape being traced. Select the two OL entities, then click Interactive Fillet, and move the mouse to adjust the fillet radius to fit. You can also select an existing Fillet to redraw it using the Interactive Fillet tool – select the Fillet, then click the Interactive Fillet tool (the mouse cursor moves to the Fillet position and resizes the fillet as you move).
To use, select two* or more unconnected Outline entities and press the Fillet tool (either the Fillet tool for a known radius, or the Interactive Fillet tool to adjust the radius in real time). * see below for a case where only one Outline is selected. When more than two outlines are selected, fillets will be created based on the order that the outlines were selected and will connect the closest two end points.
You can also select a point that connects two Outlines, or one of the Polyline connecting points and convert to a fillet – click the connecting point to select it then click the Fillet tool to create a fillet at that corner.
